Frisco's Chunk Your Junk: Saturday, August 1, 2026
Frisco runs a free drive-up disposal event twice a year, and the next one is Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Environmental Collection Center, 6616 Walnut Street.
The second 2026 date is Saturday, November 7.
What it accepts
Considerably more than regular bulk pickup: shredding (four-box limit), cardboard, plastics, styrofoam, prescription medication, yard waste, metal, general trash, household hazardous waste, electronics, refrigerators and donations.
That electronics line matters. Frisco bans e-waste from curbside bulk collection entirely, so these events and the collection center are the only municipal routes for an old television.
The catches
You must be a Frisco utility-account holder. Bring a driver’s license and a water bill with a matching address.
Apartment dwellers are not eligible. If you rent in a complex, this event is closed to you — as is Frisco’s regular bulk pickup allowance in practice.
It’s drive-up only, and you unload your own items — everything except hazardous waste, which staff handle.
Refrigerators, freezers and coolers carry a $40 Freon extraction fee.
Arrive well before 12:30. Queues build through the morning and the gate closes at 12:45 regardless of who is still waiting.
If it doesn’t fit your situation
The event runs twice a year. If you’re clearing a garage in March, moving in September, renting an apartment, or working through an estate that won’t fit in a car boot on a Saturday morning, it isn’t a practical option.
That’s most of what we do — same day, seven days a week, and we carry it out of the house rather than asking you to load it yourself.
