Where everything actually goes.
We haul almost everything. The handful we can't are restricted by law — so here is exactly where each one belongs, with the facilities named.
Household hazardous waste
McKinney runs free curbside HHW collection up to12 times a year, requested before noon the business day prior. There is no city drop-off location — it is a scheduled curbside service only, and apartment residents are not eligible. Call 972-547-7385.
Frisco takes HHW at the Environmental Collection Center, 6616 Walnut Street. Limits are 10 gallons or 50 lb, no more than 15 containers per product per day, and up to 10 fluorescent tubes. Driver's license plus a matching Frisco water bill required; apartment residents' limits are halved.
Electronics & televisions

|---|---|---|
| Curbside | Free, 12×/yr | Not accepted |
| TVs & monitors | Accepted — 1 per pickup | ECC only — 2 per day |
| Other limits | 2 boxes, 20″×20″×20″, 50 lb each | Frisco water bill required |
| Drop-off | None offered by the city | 6616 Walnut St |
Note: McKinney's recycling page has listed the Frisco ECC as an option for McKinney residents, while Frisco's own pages require a Frisco water bill. Call ahead before driving over — 972-292-5900.
Refrigerants — fridges, freezers, A/C
McKinney will collect these only with proof of Freon evacuation by a certified technician. Frisco refuses them at the curb; the ECC accepts them with a $40 Freon extraction fee billed to your utility account. We handle refrigerant-bearing appliances directly — no certificate needed from you.
